I have been having a hard time with United Health Care Mo Health paying for Hemoglobin. Today it states its my modifier. I have been using 85018 TC. What does everyone else use? Or have you been having problems with UHC
Thanks a bunch for your feed back

I was told to use a modifier of QW, and we seem to be getting paid most of the time with that.

I use QW modifier-but not billing hemoglobin until UHC can fix the CLIA problem that I am having.

You have to use QW modifier. No TC on anything. UHC is the only managed care company you have to use a modifier for hemoglobins. Also you have to put in your referring provider (ours is the doctor who signs our standing orders) and CLIA number. Everything has to be just SO SO. They are extremely picky!

Agree with above posts, I do not use TC on anything- in fact never have. QW is my go to modifier. Should you need any further assistance please let me know Danielle.rosenkoetter@lpha.mo.gov 636-584-6223 🙂

I was taught to use TC on hemoglobins for MoHN only…..
