Does anyone know if Medicaid pays for TB Skin Tests? We have a children’s facility in our area that wants to have the kids tested for TB. If so, does anyone have the correct diagnosis codes?

My notes show the diagnosis code for a TB test is Z11.90 and the CPT code is 86580, for a cost of $15. The office visit is Z02.9 with a CPT of 99212 for $20. I’ve never billed for it, so I don’t know how well you will collect.

Yes we bill Medicaid for Children’s TBST – Diagnosis code Z11.1 code 86580 (PPD) $6.37 and 99211 EP for administration of test $ 17.02; then when read same DX code bill 99211 EP 17.02.
