This was asked in the Administrator’s bulletin board last month. Sharon from Randolph County said:
CPT codes 99406 & 99407 specifically say they have to be counseling by a physician or other qualified health professional. So I would make sure your medical director is ok with the counseling that is being provided and being billed, because you will more than likely have to use his/her NPI # in order to get paid.
94250 is the actual testing, so again as long as you have orders to do these and your medical director is good with it. You should be able to bill and be reimbursed.
