We bill for WIC services. When a new baby is brought in to be put on program most of the time they aren’t in Emomed system when mom is on Medicaid. Anyone know about how long it takes for new babies to get their Medicaid number?
We usually find one by the time they come back in the next month for weight/length and for mom to have a HGB done. Sometimes we find that the baby was never reported to FSD by the hospital. Then I call Dwight Fine at the Jeff City Processing Center to report the baby myself. But in most cases, baby has a DCN within a month.
Cheryl, According to the documentation I have from state- It takes about 10 business days in order for the newborn to get a DCN. Should you want this document please email me at Danielle.rosenkoetter@lpha.mo.gov -Danielle Franklin County Health Department
