Anyone out there billing for Lead Testing? Please provide your ICD-10, procedure code, and cost please.

If there are special circumstances that allow you to bill for lead – please include that as well.

I have been told that we cant bill for lead unless you run the test at your facility.

Haven’t billed any leads in awhile but used Diagnosis codes z00.129 & z77.01 (one primary code and other secondary), procedure code 99211EP billed 16.78 – this is for office visit to do lead screen – not for test itself.

What I bill for lead is Z13.88 and code 83655 and charge 17.00. I have never been told to only bill if we do it in house. We don’t do a lot anymore, but I did have 2 in the past week that we did here in our facility. That’s the codes I used to bill for it.

Yes, we only bill office visits with a lead; and we are doing height, weight and education.
