Does anyone do lead testing at the health department? Capillary, Venous or both? We are thinking about doing our own testing but wanted to talk to someone who does it before we start.

We do lead testing in our office. We only do capillary by finger stick.

We use Tamarac for our finger sticks. If a child needs a venous blood draw we send them to their primary care physician. Dallas County

We do capillary and use Tamarac for the lab. Moniteau County

We do capillary and use Tamarac as well.

We are just starting this. We used Tamarac before but it was not necessarily cost effective and kind of a pain to get the sample sometimes. I did my first venous draw here last week and it went well super simple with the state lab. If you want to chat about what we have done even though we are fairly new to the process feel free to shoot me an email. jaynew@andrewcountyhealth.com or call 816-324-3139.
