Good morning, we have information that an amendment will be offered to add a new section (192.300) to SB 617 during committee in House General Laws scheduled for 4:30 pm this afternoon. This amendment would strip local public officials’ agencies’ authority. It would have the county health board act as an “advisory role” to county commissioners.

We are asking for MOALHPA to contact members for the House General Laws Committee and ask them to speak against this language, which is harmful to public health.

As the committee hearing has been scheduled for this afternoon, time is of the essence. Let me know if you have any questions and as always thank you all for your efforts and advocacy.
