Hello everyone –
We are thinking about switching from paper files to an EMR/EHR system. I would like everyone that is currently using such a system to give me the name of whom they are using, and the pros and cons of that system.

We moved from paper to electronic 2 years ago. It was not an easy adjustment. I don’t know that there is a system that would make the transition easy. We are using Patagonia. During training, we were told to give the system at least 5 years. Now, I see why. However, new employees that have used electronic systems elsewhere adapt to it pretty quick. We are glad we are this far into it. The Medicaid/Medicare and private insurace billing are finally working now. (I think it was working all the time-it just took us awhile to get it figured out).
Staff loves having access to clients without having to hunt down a physical chart.Juanita –
I have a demonstration with Patagonia this afternoon, and CureMD next week. We are trying to find the best solution for misfiling/documentation/billing/legibility issues/etc. Did you look around at other systems or just jump in with Patagonia? Is it expensive?
