I am having issues with credentialing with Aetna/Coventry, I received a email from them saying “Unfortunately, we are unable to extend a contract at this time. The panel is not open in your area for the type of providers practicing at the clinic.” We go through Vaxcare now and we DO run both insurances for Immunizations and Labs. Has anyone else had any issues with them? I also would like to partner with Mercy but cannot get a direct answer as to the who, what why in the credentialing process. We partner with Cox now, I would appreciate any input at all!! Connections, email, or phone numbers. My email is bthacker@webstercohealth.com

Give up on working with Mercy. They have a special “Mercy Only” policy through BCBS. Individuals with Mercy BCBS can ONLY use a Mercy provider. So if you break your leg in Colorado and there is no Mercy provider you are on the hook for 100% of charges. I verified that with Mercy when we accidentally vaccinated one of their employees.
I have both a contract with Aetna and Coventry but Coventry won’t pay our claim even when I fax them copies of signed contract.
The number I have for Aetna is old number 888-632-3862 as for Provider Relations.

Thank you Cheryl, did you have a big issue networking with Aetna and Coventry? I am a little frustrated with the one that is MY contact with Aetna.

I agree with Cheryl, here at Franklin County we’ve learned the hard way about Mercy. SUCH a pain in the booty. Cigna will only pay our vaccine codes, not a 99211- so read over your contract carefully and make sure you tell them that you bill 99211 (if you do) I credentialed with about 10 insurance companies in the summer of 2017, it was a huge headache however we are contracted now :)I am more than happy to try to help you Betty should you need any further assistance. 636-584-6223

Thank you Danielle, I will call as soon as I can, also do you have a email? Sometimes that is easier as I get very busy some days. I looked back when you were going to help me before and I did not write you email down if you gave it to me. Thank you again!
