    Pregnancy Tests
What codes are you using to get paid for Pregnancy Tests from the three subcompanies? We do not have an issue with MO Healthnet, but the others hardly ever pay. Please include your ICD-10 code and your procedure code.

    Hemoglobins
We use a clearinghouse (Office Ally) to do all of our billing. We were using ICD-10 code Z130, and procedure code 85018 with modifier TC. We have noticed that MO Care/Wellcare will not pay with the modifier, but the others wont pay it without it. Anyone else having this issue?

    Breastfeeding
What ICD-10 code and procedure code are you using to bill this?

I use z32.01 for positive pregnancy tests and z32.02 for negative with 85018 and no modifier. I have not saw any issue with denials when using the above codes. Hope that helps! If you need more assistance, feel free to call /email me 🙂

I use Z32.01(positive) and Z32.02 (neg) with a procedure code of 81025 with no modifier and the managed care pays.

I use 81025 not 85018 for pregnancy, whoops! 85018 is hemoglobin…too many numbers running in my head!

In regards to Hemoglobins, I use z13.0 Diagnosis Code and 85018 procedure code without a TC modifier for the three managed care insurance companies (Mo Care/Well Care, Home State, and United Healthcare). For Mo Healthnet (Straight Medicaid) I use the same codes but for WIC clients 20 years and under, MO Healthnet still want the TC modifier.

What/how do you bill for breastfeeding???

    Honor~

For Breastfeeding we code Z1089 with procedure code 99211. The code for prenatal and post partum for us are the same. I get paid probably 75% of the time I bill it.

We bill for this because we also weigh and measure her along with her education contact. Are others doing this as well?

PS – We were billing a previous code that was not paying at all…so we changed our code to the same as a weight check – because we are doing that as well. I was just wondering what others were coding it as.

We don’t bill for breastfeeding. Are you billing for when you teach the mom?

I also use the Z32.01 for positive pregnancy tests and Z32.02 for Negative. 81025 for both.

    Stephanie~

We only bill for breastfeeding education because we do heights and weights along with those visits. These are our “Office Visits” for prenatals.

We do not bill for nutrition classes or one on one classes with the nutritionist. We only bill for visits that have heights and weights involved.
