Child COVID Billing

I am just wondering if you guys are billing Children’s COVID immunizations through Emomed or through the Managed care Medicaid??

Through Emomed – $40 per shot. Haven’t had any problems.

Can you provide the billing cpt codes that you are using to bill the $40. Is it an administration/office visit charge?

We use pfizer Diagnosis code Z23 Procedure codes: Shot#1 0001A; Shot#2 0002A; Shot#3 0003A
no modifier is used.

It was really easy once I found out I could bill – I went back 1 year and billed all medicaid individuals we had seen – kids & adults are billed the same way through emomed.

Kids codes and adults should be different: https://www.cms.gov/medicare/medicare-part-b-drug-average-sales-price/covid-19-vaccines-and-monoclonal-antibodies

You can find them at the link above. I would be careful billing kids with the adult code if they are under the age of 12. When they audit you they might make you pay back.
