Missouri Public Health AssociationKeymasterI know this is a lot of questions– My nursing supervisor is trying to figure all the ins/outs of private vaccine costs. I advised that the billing board may not be the most appropriate place to ask all of these questions.
How do you order Private Vaccine?
Do you belong to a group purchasing organization?
Do you like who they are with? Have they had any problems?
Do they order directly from the manufacturer? What discounts are they given?May 3, 2018 at 12:59 pm #25282
Missouri Public Health AssociationKeymasterThis might be a administration question but I am curious also 🙂 Thanks for asking!

Missouri Public Health AssociationKeymasterHi Danielle,
I’ve been looking into that as well. I know there are many options, such as purchasing directly through the drug companies, but have been wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are for different VPG’s. I’m going to follow this board so I can get the tips as different lpha’s respond. Thank you.May 4, 2018 at 12:43 pm #25276
Missouri Public Health AssociationKeymasterYou might look into Vaxcare, they pay you to administer there vaccine, they supply everything. It has solved the problem of purchasing vaccine and loss that can happen with same. You can still have VFC and 317 vaccine if you are using these program through the state/

Missouri Public Health AssociationKeymasterWe have used Vaxcare for almost 3 years, and have been very unsatisfied. There are many problems with inventory and invoicing. We are making the decision to move towards self-billing to alleviate some of these issues. I understand there are many HD’s that have had the same issues.

GuestWe purchase our own private vaccine and bill insurance companies ourselves. We have been doing it this way for a couple years and so far it has been working great. The private vaccines come in a day or two after they are ordered so there isn’t a long wait time. If we are out of a private vaccine you can borrow from VFC and replace it when your private stock comes in.
