Does anyone know why VA is shortchanging us on home health visits? We billed for two RN visits and one LPN visit to a patient and got paid three different amounts, all less than what we had received in the past. All help is appreciated!
Everything has changed as of 10/01/2019. Some home health visits are now per unit. 4 units of 15 minutes per hour. RN is $27.77/unit and LPN is less. Any patient with therapy is now TriWest and billed episodically like Medicare, but I just heard last week that this too is changing to UHC Optum. It a huge mess and VA is not much help. Call the National Help line 877-881-7618.
In the past we could never get an actual auth number, but now you must have auth number on claim to be paid. You need to review auths to see where to send claim.
