These courses are offered through our school district. I and my RN both took the $89 coding class and I am about to have my new Office Coordinator take one or two classes. There is a quiz after each chapter so I printed out the pages of the chapter for references.
I found it very helpful when using the CPT and ICD-10 manuals. It shows you how to look things up and describes how the books are organized.

I would just like to add how important it is to have updated books when taking a course. We are getting ready to go into 2019 so Jan 1 the new CPT & HCPCS books take affect. ICD-10-CM updates every October 1st.
On that note, does anyone know if we will be getting new code books sent again? Last year I ordered them though our health department and then a set came in the mail later, (I believe associated from LPHA?) so I had 2 sets. Also, I am a CPC (Certified Professional Coder)and will be buying my own books soon for home but could also use them temporarily for work if need be. I just don’t want to order books again through the health department if any are coming. We are rolling into 2019 (our health department has a freeze on ordering until Jan 15th) so I would like new books one way or another, just trying to determine how to get them.
