Any kid that we have that is in foster care, is on straight medicaid. We have them come in for shots and I can’t get medicaid to pay them. I don’t have any issues with the Managed Care Plans but billing throught emomed, I get nothing. And of course, I have no idea what their codes mean for denial because I can’t seem to find them.
You can send emomed an email to ask why they are denying it. Are you using diagnostic code Z23? We get $8.07 per procedure code for individual vaccines, Example Hep A 90633 with modifier SL. Feel free to call me at the Lawrence county health department with questions. 417-466-2201 April
In our area (Benton County) most children in State care/custody are enrolled in the Show Me Healthy Kids which is a division of Home State Health Medicaid. So they are billed through HSH not EmoMed. I would double check in EmoMed eligibility that they have not been reassigned to the Show Me Healthy Kids program.
