We have recently started submitting adult vaccines to Missouri Medicaid and are receiving denials specifically for Hep B & Shingles. The denials are the following: “Status code 222, drug dispencing units/quantity billed.” For these vaccines we were billing .5 as the quantity in Emomed, what should we be using? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Shingrix has to be billed as 1 unit not .5 ml. Not run across the issue with HepB but haven’t billed any lately. Might try changing that to 1 unit also and see if that works. MMR has to be billed as 1 unit also.
